Hi!
Just a short shout-out. The last time if you wish!
I think you like birds and birding tours, but you have not opened any of my emails.
I am just about to send out a newsletter covering how the coronavirus pandemia is affecting birding, plus a few impressioins from my last Japan visit.
If you have no interest in birding whatsoever, just give a click on the link to
unsubscribe now.
If you have never been on a birding tour and/or never thought you would take one, you should know that our tours are quite different. Sure, we also do the long, two-three weeks, intense birding trip for hard core birder. In fact More Birds is Kolibri Expeditions' trademark since day one with specifically Peru in focus.
However, we have noticed there is a demand for shorter tours that concentrate on the best birds - those spectacular birds one will remember after the trip - and also include other bucket list items such as visits to world heritage sites, experiencing biosphere reserves and seeing iconic mammals in their habitats.
What has changed birding in recent years?
- The increased photography component of birding
- The abiltity to share experiences on social media.
- An ever decreased attention span. The new generation can not focus on only birds for three weeks.
- The reality that it hard for many people to be away from work or other commitments for long period of times. Even if they have 3-5 weeks of paid holiday per year, in a competive world in the modern workplace, they can not be disconnected for so long.
All the above make our new short tours perfect for new birders, as well as for more experienced birders with limited time. They are even perfect for non-birding spouses, when couples want to have experiences together and include some birds, nature, wildlife and culture.
So to entice you, I'd like to share a few links to some of my thoughts on these topic that I have posted recently and which have gotten very positive reception. Then on Sunday, you can look forward to my regular newsletter. Happy reading.
Have a great weekend and saludos from Peru...
Gunnar
