Hello ,
Here is an update what I have been up to lately. After two weeks in Borneo, running our first
7WB Borneo trip in Sabah and attending the Asian Birdfair in Kuching, Sarawak, I was at home only two days before leaving for Brazil. Now I am back from our successful
7 Wonders Birding Pantanal Jaguar and birds and Kolibri Expeditions' short
South East Brazil trip.
We shall run the Pantanal Jaguar safari twice in 2020 - both in July and in autumn, and there will also be a South East Brazil trip in connection - one with Rio and Iguazu (late June) and the other our standard South East. Do look out for these.
In two days I shall go to Piura to do the last 8 days of the
Peru Big Month. I am excited, as there is a great chance that we shall get the biggest list for a single one country birding trip ever at the end of this trip. Perhaps 1050-1100 species. If you are interested in such a mega trip for next year
let me know. I just put it in the calendar.
I also wanted to make a fast shout out for some exciting 7 Wonders Birding trips which have just been confirmed to run in late November-early December 2019, and which still have a few vacancies. Act fast, as Visa need to be issued.
Our
Bhutan program runs Nov 24-Dec 1 and
India with Taj Mahal and Tiger runs Dec 2-6. If one wants to do a longer trip, one may add 3 days in Nepal before the Bhutan
trip, and which shall include Kathmandu and Chitwan for culture and birding.
Get back to me ASAP if interested.
Finally, it is with great sadness to inform that my dear friend and co-worker Warren Latham passed away on August 24 after a long spell of bad luck with accidents, hospital visits and generally poor health. He is sorely missed.
Warren was a big supporter of the 7 Wonders Birding idea and always someone to test ideas with giving great feedback.
I will probably be looking for volunteers who want to spend some time in Peru to help realize the ideas that Warren and I had for putting this company in the forefront in a new era of birding tours.
Saludos
Gunnar.
