OK, chances are that you are not going either. I am guessing that perhaps at the most 10% of the people of this mailing list live in the UK and of these probably only half that even consider going to the Birdfair this year. Bare with me as this relates somewhat to
my post about Flightshame the other day. Because, I will be at the BirdFair Virtually.
Before I go on any further, please know that you don’t have to receive my ramblings and information about our birding tours. Please
unsubscribe here if you are not interested.
You may have missed the two earlier emails that explain why you are getting these posts from me. (
email 2,
email 1)
I come to realize that I would have spent about US$3600 to participate at the Birdfair this year. Additionally, there are new consumer protection rules which makes it impossible to sell to clients directly. I can’t even give out my business card.
Obviously, this does not only affect me, but also other overseas operators. Therefor, I have created a new website called
Virtual BirdFair.
Here you can find all overseas bird tour operators present at the British Birdfair in 2018 plus those present the American Birding Expo in 2018.
I hope this platform helps you when looking for operators for your favorite birding destination. I want to present good bird conservation projects which also work as carbon offset and present these on this same site.
Apart from the Virtual Birdfair website, we are also present on several sales platforms that are being promoted at the Birdfair, so below is a shoutout to check these out. If you have travelled with us in the past and you enjoyed our services, I would be extremely pleased if you took a few minutes to give us a raving review. It will help so others find our offerings.
Let me finish listing our scheduled trips for the rest of the year. For the upcoming
Borneo trip and our weekly short
North Peru tour we offer special prices.
Late Aug-December. Every week we will run our
5 day North Peru trip featuring Marvelous Spatuletail, now with a new itinerary which gives you even more birds. The tours until the end of September have 20% discount. The tours in
November-mid December come with 10%.

If you want to meet up in real life at a birding festival, I will be at Rio Grande Valley Birding Festival November 6-10.
